The Prayers of the Psalmist.
Today we continue our study of Psalm 119, the longest of the Psalms and one arranged in an format of twenty two stanzas, each of which uses and emphasises one of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
Walking Worthily as a Church Member.
Paul said in Ephesians 4:2-3, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Let us measure ourselves by these two verses of Scripture. How far we fall short!
Our Daily Bread.
Prayer begins with God ward concerns, but it does not end there. The first three petitions of the Lord's Prayer make petitions for the name, Kingdom, and the will of God. These must be the first concerns in our prayer life.
Our Father.
If we are to come boldly to the throne of grace to receive help in our time of need, we must know who sits on the throne. We must know who God is, and we must know what kind of person He is. We can learn a lot by considering our Lord’s most basic instruction on prayer.
